!! The My Pet Bird system REQUIRES both at least 1 bird box and a cage to work !!
**You may house up to 6 birds in a Cage**
1. Rez your cage.
2. Place a bird box near the cage.
3. Click the bird box, and follow the instructions. Your new bird will be placed into the cage. PLEASE!! If you are placing multiple birds into cages, wait until each bird has been successfully placed before starting the next. This will help prevent lag errors.
4. Once your bird is in it's new home, click the cage to access the menu to feed and water it.
5. Yesterday's News: This is an OPTIONAL Add-On Item for your birdcage! Rez the paper and click to add to your cage. Over time, the cage will become dirty and the newspaper will need to be replaced. You may purchase new paper from the [ free bird ] store for 25L.
BONUS!! Cages that are lined with newspaper help promote bird health, and will slow food/water consumption!
VERY IMPORTANT!!! ACTIVE BIRDS (placed in a cage and rezzed in-world) MUST BE FED AND WATERED AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK! Birds that are left without food or water will die and you will be unable to retrieve them!
FOOD AND WATER ARE FREE! You only need to click the cage to interact with your birds, but if you wish to keep them, you MUST CARE FOR THEM!
Your birds will live forever if fed and watered!
RELEASING YOUR BIRDS IS PERMANENT! BE VERY SURE YOU WISH TO DO THIS BEFORE CLICKING, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET YOUR BIRDS BACK!
!! You may reuse the same cage as many times as you like, HOWEVER releasing active birds loses them forever !!
Taking your cage into your inventory pauses the hunger/thirst and they will not die.
Helpful Hint:
Food and water levels will lower as the birds eat and drink. Simply look at your cage to see if your birds need care.
